Welcome members! I hope this blog finds you all well after the rather unpredictable weather we’ve had of late, it finally looks as though spring is on its way- long overdue! I’m pleased to tell you that the next National Members Meeting will be held at Dentons LLP Boardroom offices in London One Fleet Place, London EC4M 7RA on 24th April 2018. I look forward to seeing you all there for what I hope will be another good turn-out.

Please visit the website for the meeting agenda which will cover topics such as Support for Mortgage Interest (SMI) and GDPR.
There will also be the usual regulatory and MALG updates and an introduction to new representatives. If you’d like to view the meeting papers and presentation slides from the last meeting, they can be found here.

Welcome to new MALG members

In my last blog I mentioned some of our new members, and it gives me great pleasure to welcome yet another new National Business Member. The Money Charity is the UK’s financial capability charity with a vision for everyone to be on top of their money. They empower people across the UK to build the skills, knowledge, attitudes and behaviours to make the most of their money throughout their lives. We’re grateful for their support a I’m looking forward seeing more new members arrive over the course of the year.

Erik Porter, Head of Adult & Industry Programmes, The Money Charity commented: “Our MALG membership connects The Money Charity to other organisations who support consumers in debt and are leading the effort to make money and debt manageable for everyone.”

Michelle Highman, Chief Executive of The Money Charity, commented: “We are thrilled to be part of MALG, a group of organisations closely aligned with our goals, devoting it’s time to combatting the issues of problem debt and improving the lives of those who face financial hardship and distress.”

MALG Conference 2018

This year’s conference is set to be very different to last year’s, we are planning to offer some attractive packages so watch this space for further details. We’ve already had a lot of interest in sponsorship and exhibition opportunities, so don’t forget to register your interest in sponsoring or exhibiting at the MALG Conference 2018 on our website to avoid disappointment.

Do you have any ideas for panel sessions discussion topics for this year’s conference? I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas.
