PRA Group has announced that it will once again partner with not-for-profit organisation Money Advice Liaison Group (MALG) to sponsor its ‘Members Friday Forum’ throughout 2025.
The MALG Members Friday Forum was launched in March 2020 to enable money advisers, creditors, regulators, policy-makers and others from the financial services and advice sectors in the UK to advance MALG’s aim of ‘working together to improve the lives of people in debt’ throughout the Covid-19 lockdown.
PRA Group’s sponsorship enabled the forum to continue throughout 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 as a fortnightly event which has been attended by representatives from almost 200 different organisations. It has become an invaluable resource for those supporting the most vulnerable in society during the cost of living crisis and beyond.
Bob Winnington, Chief Executive of MALG, said:
“We’re incredibly proud that the MALG Friday Forum is still going strong almost five years on from when we quickly launched it in response to the unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. It remains as valuable to our Members, if not more, than it was then because of its unique open-agenda format which means attendees never know what to expect and yet almost always leave with valuable insights and new connections.
“It is thanks to PRA Group that we’re able to continue running the Friday Forum and we hope to continue doing so for as long as there is an appetite from those across the debt landscape to come together and debate the latest issues facing those in problem debt.”
Tim Kirk, PRA Group UK Country Operations Director, says:
“PRA Group is proud to be the official sponsor of the MALG Members Friday Forum for the fifth consecutive year. The renewal of this sponsorship reaffirms our commitment to supporting MALG’s mission to facilitate positive change in the debt collection industry and work together to improve the lives of people in debt. MALG shares PRA Group’s dedication to promoting ethical debt collection practices and treating every customer with fairness and respect.”
The last MALG Members Friday Forum of 2024 will be on 13 December and, following a Festive break, it will return on a fortnightly basis throughout 2025 starting on 17 January. It will continue to be an hour-long drop-in session with no political, regulatory or commercial agenda which will not be minuted or recorded.
PRA Group will also sponsor the MALG Conference 2025 for the fourth consecutive year.
