Money Advice Liaison Group (MALG), the UK membership organisation ‘working together to improve the lives of people in debt’, is pleased to announce the appointment of Muna Yassin MBE and Jason Wassell to its Board.

Both highly respected and experienced industry leaders, Muna is CEO of Rooted Finance and Jason is CEO of the Consumer Credit Trade Association (CCTA). They bring a unique combination of expertise in grassroots community debt advice and alternative lending to the MALG Board.

This latest announcement follows the recent appointment of new MALG Chair, Fiona Hoyle of Finance and Leasing Association, and new Board Member, Carole Kenney of CDER Group.

MALG Chair, Fiona Hoyle, comments:

“These new appointments further strengthen the breadth and depth of expertise on the MALG Board, building our impact as the only UK membership organisation that spans the whole debt landscape. Muna and Jason both bring important new perspectives to support our growth and development and I’m delighted they will be joining us.”

Muna Yassin says:

“The conversations that happen as a result of MALG bringing together a diverse and unique range of people committed to working together to improve the lives of people in debt, are vital. I am delighted to join the Board and proud to be able to represent the community debt advice sector. I look forward to supporting the team in continuing to develop MALG’s offer.”

Jason Wassell adds:

“As a long-time Member and supporter of MALG I know what an important role it plays in bringing together key stakeholders to both challenge each other and collaborate with each other to make positive change in the interests of both consumers and the industries that serve them. It is a privilege to join the Board and be part of the organisation’s exciting future.”

MALG Membership is open to all public, private and third sector organisations which have an interest in matters relating to personal debt, from financial capability and lending, through to debt collection and money advice. There are eight MALG Regional Groups across the UK and both virtual and face-to-face events are held regularly throughout the year. The 38th MALG Conference 2025 will be held at Aspire Leeds on Thursday 13 November.
