Hello to all our MALG Members and contacts,

There is now less than two weeks until the MALG and DIGIMASS virtual fintech event: ‘Let an App Fill the Gap’. We are very pleased to be able to offer this half day event on 3 February 9.30-12.30 to MALG Members for FREE (non-member ticket price £45). The event is aimed at those already working in the fintech space supplying and developing consumer financial health apps, and those that work with consumers in financial difficulty to understand more about the role of fintech in improving financial wellbeing. All those wishing to attend on either a free or paid for basis must register for a place using the booking form on our website here as soon as possible.

The agenda for the event is as follows:

  • 9.30 – 9.40:  Welcome all participants
  • 9.40 – 10.10: The Story So Far – a brief overview of the development of digital within the world of debt management, including contributions from Heather O’Rourke of Money Advice Scotland and Jan Mosiewicz of DIGIMASS.
  • 10.00 – 10.40: A Journey of Discovery (Part 1) – using a series of short videos we will explore how digital apps are part of our everyday lives and why they can influence our behaviours and deliver support. Includes a Q&A session where panel members (see names/organisations below) will respond to attendee’s questions and comments.
  • 10.40 – 10.55: Coffee Break
  • 10.55 – 11.25: A Journey of Discovery (Part 2) – a second series of short videos highlighting some of the features, advantages and benefits that apps can deliver. Includes Q&A with panel.
  • 11.25 – 11.55: Vulnerability Case Studies – two ‘in their own words’ stories of where financial apps have helped to support vulnerable consumers. Includes Q&A.
  • 11.55 – 12.05: Nick Cabrera of Open Futures discusses how a central directory of suppliers can support MALG members who are seeking to engage with FinTechs.
  • 12.05 – 12.30: Q&A with recommended follow-up actions and opportunities for all attendees.

Introducing the MALG Virtual Connect 2021!

Following the success of and learnings from the MALG Virtual Summit held in October 2020, we are very pleased to bring you the all-new MALG Virtual Connect, which we hope will become a regular fixture in our Spring events calendar.

The MALG Virtual Connect is a one-day event (running from 9am until approx 3pm) on 25 March 2021 offering the opportunity to engage in discussion and debate on hot topics and network with others from across the whole debt landscape. The interactive sessions will provide ample opportunity for questions & answers and dedicated networking time will be built into the programme.

Delegate ticket prices are as follows:

  • MALG Member commercial delegate: £95+VAT
  • MALG Member not-for-profit delegate: £55+VAT
  • Non-MALG Member commercial delegate: £125+VAT
  • Non-MALG Member not-for-profit delegate: £85+VAT

New MALG Membership benefit: Certificate of Membership

All those signing up to the new MALG National Membership will now receive an official Certificate of MALG Membership upon each annual renewal featuring their company name, membership number, and membership start/expiry date along with the MALG Member logo. Existing National Members who would like a Certificate before their next renewal date can request one by emailing info@malg.org.uk. If you are not already a MALG Member or are an existing MALG Member that has not yet moved onto the new membership structure, you can find out about the full range of membership benefits on our website here.
