Sara Williams has been a volunteer advisor at her local Citizens Advice in London since 2001. She is a member of MALG and the Institute of Money Advisers and has the Certificate in Money Advice Practice professional qualification. She is also a blogger via her own personal website, Debt Camel, which she set up in 2013 to talk about what really matters to people who have a debt problem. Following sessions on Open Banking at the MALG Conference 2017, she shares her insights into what it will mean for advisors and customers in her latest blog:

Sara says: “It may be brilliant, it may be scary, it may be slow to take off, it may be revolutionary, it could be a damp squib, but it’s not boring. A Which? survey two months ago found that more than 90% of people haven’t heard of it at all and I bet most of rest are pretty vague about what it actually means. This article gives an overview, so you know what Open Banking is and have a feel for how it might affect you.
