Hello to all our Members, Associates, Supporters and Friends! I hope this blog finds you all well after the rather unpredictable weather we’ve had of late, just as we thought spring was on its way we were hit with more rain and grey skies, fingers crossed it improves!

If you would like to sit down and discuss how you and your organisation would like to develop your relationship with MALG this year, please let me know. I’m keen to continue to engage with our members in fresh and innovative ways and, as always, have your thoughts and insights about the best way to do this. I have already had some very engaging conversations with several of our members, which has emphasised how vital your input is to ensure we can develop our approach to member engagement and continue to grow the organisation.

MALG National Members Meeting

The next National Members meeting will be taking place on the 11th of April. The meeting will focus upon Rent-to-Own and alternatives to High Cost Credit and we are pleased to announce that our Principle Speaker for this event will be Graeme McLean, Head of Consumer Distribution, FCA. The full agenda will be available prior to the event. Places are limited so please register today through this link.

There will also be the usual regulatory and MALG updates and an introduction to new representatives. If you’d like to view the meeting papers and presentation slides from the last meeting, they can be found here.

Save the date – MALG AGM and Members Meeting – 4th July 2019!

An important part of the AGM is the election of the Directors of MALG. On this occasion, two Directors will not be seeking re-election and we would therefore welcome nominations from members for new Directors. MALG seeks to achieve a balanced Board with representation from the various sectors concerned with personal debt, debt advice, debt collection and related ancillary matters within the UK. This year we are ideally looking for candidates with a background in the provision of Credit and in Collections and look forward to receiving your nominations by 30th April 2019.

New Members

It gives me great pleasure to welcome three new MALG members. Our new Affiliate member is Registry Trust Limited, TrustOnline is the only official Register to check for Judgements, Orders and Fines. IE Hub gives consumers control to complete their income and expenditure at their own pace without lengthy telephone conversations.

Finally, but by no means least the Atom Bank is the UK’s first bank built exclusively for mobile, redefining what a bank should be, making things easier, transparent and better value. I hope you’ll join me in welcoming Registry Trust Limited, IE Hub and Atom Bank to the MALG family.

Conference Save the date

The date for this year’s MALG conference will take place on 24th October 2019, and the venue will be No 11 Cavendish Square London, W1G 0AN.

Further details will be announced shortly.

Commercial sponsorship and exhibition opportunities are available as well as commercial exhibition stands and several negotiable sponsorship packages. If you would like to register your interest or get further information on any of the above, please email info@malg.org.uk.
