Debt Awareness Week 2024

For 10 years, StepChange’s annual campaign Debt Awareness Week has shone a spotlight on the experiences of people dealing with problem debt and put the free and impartial advice available on the agenda. With the support of our partners, it’s reached millions of people.

This year, during Debt Awareness Week on 18-24 March 2024, StepChange will be calling attention to the barriers faced by people which delay or stop them from accessing advice, including:

  1. Not understanding how debt advice could help them
  2. Being worried that their friends or family will find out
  3. Fears that their credit score will be affected, or they won’t be able to borrow more money
  4. Mental health issues making it more difficult to get help
  5. Not having enough time to seek advice and tackle their debt

Find out how you can support the campaign here.
