Take a break from the heat to catch up with everything that’s been going on and is coming up in the world of ‘working together to improve the lives of people in debt’…
MALG Conference 2022 – theme, keynote speaker and sponsors/exhibitors revealed!

The MALG Conference 2022 on 3 November at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre is the first one outside of London and set to be our best and most inclusive yet. We are looking forward to welcoming an even wider variety of people from across the whole debt and credit landscape!
Bookings are already coming in thick and fast and we are now pleased to announce the keynote speaker Karl Handscomb, Senior Economist at the Resolution Foundation and the overall conference theme of ‘Jaded: How has working together to improve the lives of people in debt changed in the last 35 years?’ (a nod to MALG’s 35th anniversary, which is traditionally celebrated with jade gifts).

We are also very grateful for the support of our headline sponsor Intrum UK Ltd, other sponsors PRA GroupLantern, and Lester Aldridge, and confirmed exhibitors Intrum UK Ltd, Money & Pensions Service, C&R Software, and entitledto. Please contact bob.winnington@malg.org.uk to enquire about how your organisation could benefit from sponsorship and exhibition opportunities.
Delegate ticket prices have been set in response to member feedback and in the light of the cost of living crisis and rising inflation, to make the event as inclusive and accessible to as many people as possible:

MALG celebrates 35th anniversary with launch of Ambassador Programme

MALG is celebrating its 35th anniversary with the launch of a new Ambassador Programme.

At the recent AGM & National Members Meeting, MALG CEO Bob Winnington took attendees through the organisation’s history and key achievements including the publication of the first ever industry guidelines on debt and mental health in 2007, and the switch to virtual collaboration overnight when the Covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020.

Bob then announced the names of 35 MALG Ambassadors (one for each year) who are valued members and colleagues that have gone above and beyond to promote the support the organisation over the years, helping it grow from strength-to-strength in recent times when its existence has been more relevant and important than ever.

The 35 Ambassadors include MALG Board members such as Yvonne MacDermid who headed up Money Advice Scotland for many years, as well as current MALG Members such as Debt Camel blogger Sara Williams who have given up their time to voluntarily sit on committees and steering groups, spoken at events, and made valuable contributions to discussions on an ongoing basis.

Find out more, including the full list of names, here.
