Money Advice Liaison Group (MALG) Terms of Membership Rules
Introduction
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Member of the Money Advice Liaison Group (MALG). As a not-for-profit organisation committed to collaboration and improving outcomes for people in debt, we ask all Members to adhere to the following guidelines to ensure consistency, professionalism and integrity across our network.
- Membership Activation
- Membership is only confirmed once full payment has been received.
- Until payment is received, organisations are not considered official MALG Members.
- MALG reserves the right to withhold access to member benefits until payment is complete.
- Use of MALG Branding & Logo
- The MALG Member logo may only be used once membership is fully active (i.e. payment received).
- Any use of the MALG logo prior to this is considered unauthorised use.
- Members must ensure the logo is used accurately and not in a misleading way, including implying endorsement or partnership beyond membership status.
- MALG reserves the right to require immediate removal of branding if used incorrectly.
- Professional Conduct
Members are expected to:
- Act with integrity and professionalism in all interactions within the MALG network
- Engage collaboratively and respectfully with other members
- Contribute positively to discussions, events and shared learning
- Avoid any behaviour that could bring MALG or its members into disrepute
- Representation & Claims
- Membership of MALG does not constitute endorsement, accreditation, or regulatory approval.
- Members must not make claims that suggest MALG has formally approved their services, products or practices.
- Any public reference to MALG membership should be accurate and proportionate.
- Event Participation & Engagement
- Member spaces at events, forums and meetings are for constructive engagement and knowledge sharing.
- Promotional activity should be appropriate and not overly commercial, particularly in discussion-based sessions such as Friday Forums.
- Data, Confidentiality & Trust
- Members must respect the confidentiality of discussions within MALG meetings and forums.
- Information shared within MALG should not be used in a way that could undermine trust or relationships within the network.
- Payment Terms
- Invoices are payable in line with the stated payment terms.
- Continued non-payment may result in:
- Suspension of MALG membership
- Removal from MALG communications and member listings
- Breach of MALG’s Terms of Membership
Failure to adhere to these Terms of Membership may result in:
- Removal of membership benefits
- Withdrawal of membership status
- Require to cease use of MALG branding
- Exclusion from events and future participation
- Updates to Policy
MALG reserves the right to update these Terms at any time to reflect best practice and protect the integrity of the organisation and its members.
Membership Terms– Acknowledgement & Agreement
By ticking to agree to these terms on the MALG Membership Application Form, I confirm that:
- I have read and understood the MALG Terms of Membership
- I understand that membership is only active once payment has been received.
- I will not use the MALG Member logo until membership is formally confirmed.
- My organisation agrees to abide by MALG’s expected standards of engagement and professional conduct.
- I am authorised to commit my organisation to MALG membership and agree to these Terms on its behalf.
