MALG member the Money Advice Service has announced that Shelter will be the supplier to deliver a three-year contract for specialist debt advice support services on its behalf.

The support service will provide organisations across the debt sector with free access to a panel of experts to help guide them through complex debt cases and help them with legal matters. The service will be provided online and by phone.

Shelter has a wealth of experience delivering specialist support and currently provides a similar service to the housing sector. In addition to providing these specialist services to the debt sector, they will focus on ensuring even more organisations can access this valuable resource including housing associations, local government and niche services.

Shelter was selected after a competitive procurement process. Over 40 organisations submitted an expression of interest and there were five final bidders. The quality of bids was extremely high and Shelter represented the best value in terms of their experience and the quality of the service they could provide.
